About this course
Code Crew Grade 4 moves from Grade 3's pseudocode to real Python that kids read, trace and complete right on the page. They work with lists, loops, strings, dictionaries and functions while running the crew's space station: tallying fuel, checking cargo, decoding a garbled comms log and planning a launch. Short lessons every weekday with answers checked as they go, and an offline Crew Quest each weekend.
Kids will
- Work with lists of records and small dictionaries
- Read input, process it, and print structured output
- Use early string methods (split, join, slice)
- Trace a program by hand to predict its output
- Refactor a 30 line program into smaller functions
- Choose between a list and a dictionary for the right job
