About this course
Sound Trail Grade 2 picks up where Grade 1 ends. Each week adds one set of patterns in order, from oo, ou and oi to soft c and g, silent letters, syllables, prefixes, suffixes and contractions, and every Read it yourself line uses only patterns and heart words already taught. Longer stories build smooth, expressive reading. Every line is read aloud and every week is free.
Kids will
- Tell long and short vowels apart in one-syllable words
- Read words with oo, ew, ue, ou, oi, oy, aw and au
- Read soft c and g words and words with silent letters like kn and wr
- Split two-syllable words and read consonant-le words like table
